MPs Given Priority For Free Booster Shots

Members of Parliament took advantage of the opportunity to receive Covid-19 vaccination booster doses at the Parliament building on Tuesday, courtesy of the Ministry of Health (MoH).

Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun, Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat, said the booster dose was provided inside the Parliament building to protect the safety of all MPs, since they often meet people and return to their areas, particularly during the flood season.

“I would like to thank the Ministry of Health for providing the booster dose to all members of Parliament," he told reporters, after observing the booster dose administration technique while also receiving the shot.

The administration of a booster dosage of the Pfizer vaccine took place in the banquet hall on Tuesday from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bernama checks revealed that MPs were waiting for their turn as early as 9.20 a.m.

Senior Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Foreign Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, and Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin were among those in attendance.

Booster dosing for fully vaccinated individuals began nationwide on October 13 to guarantee that the immunity acquired after completing their doses may be sustained for an optimum time, particularly against Delta variant infections.
