Eligible Individuals Can Walk-In For Booster Dose From Nov 22 Onwards

The COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force – Booster (CITF-B), chaired by Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, has made a decision to introduce walk-in registration for individuals on the waiting list at health facility vaccination centres (PPV) nationwide beginning Nov 22.

The CITF-B said in a statement today that walk-in registration is being implemented for individuals eligible for booster shots who wish to receive them sooner than their scheduled appointment dates, for individuals who have not yet received their first or second dose of COVID-19 vaccine, for individuals who missed their vaccination appointments, and for adolescents aged 12 to 17 who have not completed their vaccination.

“Even though the priority of booster dose is for frontliners, security and defence personnel; individuals aged 40 and above; individuals aged 18 and above with comorbidity; occupants and personnel at long term health care centres, pregnant mothers and those required to go overseas,” the statement said.

According to the statement, CITF-B hopes that by using this strategy, eligible individuals will be able to receive the booster dose willingly and without having to wait extended periods of time.

Those who had already registered on the waiting list would be notified by the private medical practitioner if there was an appointment cancellation or no show by those who had received appointments via MySejahtera, he said.

He said that the CITF-B’s strategy will assist the government in ensuring that the vaccine is not wasted and is utilised to its full potential.

Apart from walk-in registration at PPV’s private health centre, registration may also be done via phone or email.

From Nov 22, members of the public may refer to and contact a list of PPVs offering walk-in/telephone/email services on www.protecthealth.com.my.

To date, over a million booster doses have been distributed to eligible individuals throughout the country.
